READING


Reading
As we know reading is the most important thing that people should do, especially people
in education. Student will get lost if they doesn’t read a lot for their particular subject, they will get bad marks in that subject. So, reading is must be done automatically, no matter you want it or not. Reading itself has divided into three levels, it is reading for primary level, reading for secondary level, and reading for tertiary level.
Reading for primary level, it is focused on primary school student. Read independently and effectively are skills that student must have Young learner are taught to read using a variety of phonics decoding, published reading schemes, information sources, their own writing and a range of good quality literature. Young learner are taught from the start to use a range of skills and to focus on the meaning of what they are reading. They are encourage to read for their own interest and pleasure and for information, and to develop as enthusiastic and reflective readers. Supports from parents for children’s reading is vital throughout school life. The most important skill any child can leave primary school with is the ability to read independently and effectively for meaning
Reading for secondary level, secondary level is focus in junior and senior high school. The student in this level has ability to differentiate whether it is fact, opinion, or just believe. programs and materials implemented at the secondary level for reading are designed  to address specific skill areas related to the “big ideas” in reading. The five big ideas include Phonemic Awareness, Alphabetic Principle, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension. Applying secondary level reading supports involves the development of "packaged interventions" where students access a treatment package based on the particular need of the student. These interventions are sometimes called "strategic" interventions because the specialized strategies are meant to address the needs of a specific group of students. Schools may develop several packaged strategic interventions based on school reading data and available resources.
Reading for tertiary level, the focus of this level is university level where reading something, we read it, we understand it, and we see the problem form many perspectives. If secondary level the students already know how to differentiate whether it is fact, opinion, or just believe. In tertiary level, something we know it is fact, we should get the evidences through searching the resource because a fact should be proven. Reading for tertiary level is belong to reading beyond line (Drs. Bambang wijaya, February 19th, 2013)
Reading is one of four skill that taught in English lesson. Reading is not just a basic skill, larger our level, wider the challenge we get. As a university student you must read four hundred books in four years in college (Drs. Zainal Arifin M.A)
