Sociolinguistics
Sociolinguistic is the study of relationship between
language and society.

Language : phonology, morphology, syntax, and discourse

Society : economics, geography, education, ethnics,
age/gender, occupation, and etc.
The differences between
two different culture:
We can differentiate two different culture through their
ethnics, educational background, place and etc.
Function of
language is to communicate meaning, and maintain social relationship.
Transactional
communication:
Transactional communication is between seller-buyer,
producer-costumer, teacher- student, or etc.
What is considered
questions in sociolinguistic? - Who,
what, to whom, when, and where.
Sociolinguistics is divided into two kinds, there are micro
and macro. Sociolinguistics micro is study about sociolinguistic micro/
anthropology of linguistics. Sociolinguistics macro is focused in sociology of
language
Q: why we should learn sociolinguistics?

As a teacher in the future we will faced student
from different culture background, economics, or etc. so, we need to learn
sociolinguistic to learn the approaches to teach them and to be able to
maintain sociolinguistics,
